The Last Chance Grade Project is a collaborative effort to study alternatives for a permanent solution to instability and roadway failure on a 3-mile segment of US Highway 101 in Del Norte County. This critical segment extends between Wilson Creek to 10 miles south of Crescent City.
Caltrans selected the tunnel solution as the preferred alternative to ensure safety and protect travelers, support the regional economy, and preserve this vital community connection.
